Meal(s) Included: Dinner Overnight at Intercontinental pyramids park Or Similar | | Day 2 | Cairo | After breakfast, visit Old Cairo, and explore the areas where Jesus and Mary stayed in Egypt. Visit the Ancient Churches, Synagogues and Mosques. In the afternoon, drive through the scenic streets to the great pyramids of Giza which was built in 3,000 B.C. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Intercontinental pyramids park Or Similar | | Day 3 | Aswan | After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel. Visit the gigantic twin temples of Ramesses II and his queen Nefertari. Fly back to Aswan and board the cruise. After lunch, go sailing in a felucca, the traditional Egyptian sail boat on the Nile to Kitchner Island, named after Lord Kitchner who imported plants from all over the world to create his famous garden. You will view the Aga Khan Mausoleum, an elegant pink granite structure built in the late 1950's. You will also visit the granite quarries which supplied the ancient Egyptians with hard stone used to build the pyramids and temples. Continue by a short motor-boat ride to the Temple of Philae on the island of Agilka . The temple was dedicated to Isis, sister/wife of Osiris and patroness of the Ptolemaic rule. Sail around Elephantine Island on a felucca. Elephantine Island is the largest of the Aswan area islands, and is the site of some of the most ancient remains in Egypt. Then sail to Kom Ombo, and after lunch visit the Temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroreis. Sail to Edfu where you will dock for the night.
