| Day 1 | MAMPONG | Depart from your hotel in Accra and drive approximately 30 miles to Mampong. Visit Mampong Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine. The center conducts research in the use of plant medicine in the cure of various ailments. Lunch at Aburi Botanical Gardens. Aburi Botanical Garden is among the 1600 Botanical Gardens worldwide, leading the fight to save plant diversity as well as creating an understanding and awareness of conservation and development of plant resources. The garden's activities include scientific research, horticultural training, preserving and reproducing endangered plants, and introducing rare plants into nature. Aburi Botanical Garden is on the Akwapim Ridge, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Accra. The Garden overlooks the coastal plain at an elevation of (1,200 - 1,500 feet) above sea level.
