Day 1BangkokWhy not kick off the journey with a spicy green curry in Thailand's busy capital?
Days 2-4Siem Reap/Angkor WatImmerse yourself in the illustrious history of the Khmer Empire while exploring Angkor's temples. The Bayon will bewitch, as will the crumbling, jungle-covered ruins of Ta Prohm. Angkor Wat is a must, and its silhouette at sunset is spectacular.
Days 5-6Phnom PenhCambodia's capital is the perfect place to delve into the country's history and culture. Enjoy a coffee perhaps, at a modern cafe along Sisowath Quay, before going on to see the grim exhibits at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.
Day 7Chau DocCross the border to Vietnam by boat, watching riverside life pass by.
Days 8-10Ho Chi Minh CityClamber down the Cu Chi Tunnels to learn what life was like for Viet Minh soldiers. Afterwards, take to Ho Chi Minh City's streets in a slow-going cyclo - the best way to soak up the sights.
Days 11-12Hoi AnBe seduced by the Old World charm of Hoi An. There's also sumptuous cuisine to sample, and shops selling everything from tailored suits to handmade lanterns.
Days 13-14HueAscend the aptly-named Sea Cloud Pass en route to Hue, the Vietnamese centre of learning, religion and Nguyen imperialism.
Day 15HanoiFill up at the inspirational KOTO restaurant, dedicated to educating Vietnam's street kids, before wandering the shady streets of the capital.
Day 16Halong BayGlide past stunning limestone scenery, stopping to explore caves filled with spectacular stone formations.
