Airport Transfers
  • London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It's that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
  • Important Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
  • You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
  • Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
  • Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
  • Heathrow Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-21.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by coach. Gatwick Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-12.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by express train and coach. Transfers outside these times will be at the passengers own expense.
  • In the event of unforeseen events (Road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
  • No refund is available for passengers not utilising this service.
  • Why not upgrade to a Hotelink transfer from the Airport to-the-door of your Trafalgar London hotel? (Please ask your travel agent of the additional upgrade price per person when booking)
  • European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengers will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on the scheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the times specified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves your flight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
  • Trafalgar Bonus Passengers who book Trafalgar's Land+Air package and who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on the scheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also be provided with a transfer.
  • Passengers arriving before or leaving after the scheduled tour days are not entitled to a transfer but may book and purchase one through Trafalgar providing that they also purchase the additional pre and/or post tour hotel night(S) from Trafalgar.   • Land only passengers arriving or departing on the scheduled tour arrival or departure days but whose flights don't coincide with the listed transfer times below may also book and purchase these transfers. Day 1Depart USAOvernight flight to London.
Day 2LondonAfter checking into your Trafalgar hotel, the remainder of your day is at leisure, perhaps to explore Britain's capital city. Hotel: Hilton Olympia (2 nights)
Day 3LondonMany major sights are included on our morning sightseeing tour. Then enjoy time on your own to explore this exciting city. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4AmsterdamGreetings from our Tour Director, as we drive to the White Cliffs of Dover for our sea crossing to Calais in France. We drive into Belgian Flanders and via Antwerp, the city of spires to the Dutch border and fields of turning windmills. Then via Utrecht we arrive in friendly Amsterdam. We enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director before we have a wonderful introduction to the city with our canal cruise in a glass topped boat which glides past 17th century gabled houses along the spider's web of canals. Day 5AmsterdamAfter breakfast we visit a diamond cutting and polishing factory before heading out to the Dutch Amsterdam orientation and excursion to Volendam. After breakfast we visit a diamond cutting and polishing factory before heading out to the Dutch countryside. We arrive in the quaint seaside port of Volendam, protected by a well-constructed dyke and where many of the inhabitants still dress in tradtional costume. We also visit a cheese farm and wooden clog workshop and our Tour Director reveals a special Hidden Treasure to us! The balance of the day is at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 6FrankfurtWe drive past Arnhem, scene of famous World War II action and into Germany making a stop at Cologne to see its gothic Cathedral. Next we by-pass Bonn to embark on a relaxing Rhine cruise at Boppard, gliding past medieval castles and ancient vineyards. Disembarking in St. Goar, we rejoin our coach and drive to our hotel for the night. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Sheraton Offenbach
Day 7LucerneToday begins with a drive to Heidelberg to see its Castle. Then on through the picturesque Black Forest to the Swiss border, stopping at the mighty Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen en route to beautiful lakeside Lucerne. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Grand Hotel Europe (2 nights)
Day 8LucerneOur morning orientation tour features the Chapel Bridge and the moving Lion Monument. Then free time to shop for Swiss watches and chocolate and perhaps take a trip up a nearby mountain peak. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 9InnsbruckWe pass the Walensee to Liechtenstein, stopping in its capital Vaduz. Later we cross into Austria via the Arlberg Pass and the Tyrol, to mountain-ringed Innsbruck. Day 10ViennaThis morning it's back into Germany to Salzburg in Austria! Here our walking tour with a local expert explores the city that featured in "The Sound of Music" and is best known as Mozart's birthplace. From here we will drive to Imperial Vienna. Day 11Return USAThe Opera, Hofburg, City Hall, Stadtpark, Parliament and the Imperial Boulevards are all highlighted on our sightseeing tour. Later, time at leisure to relax or maybe explore this fascinating city further. Tonight, perhaps enjoy dinner at a nearby 'heurige' wine village. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 12VeniceToday's journey takes us across the Alps to the Semmering Pass and on to the Austrian Lake District and Italy's border. From here we continue to the Carnian Alps which give way to the plains of Italy and magical Venice where we stay for two nights. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Novotel Castellana (2 nights)
Day 13VeniceToday we enjoy a canal cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square viewing the Bridge of Sighs and Doges' Palace. After a visit to a glass-blowing factory, there's time at leisure, perhaps to experience a relaxing gondola serenade. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 14RomeAfter breakfast our drive today will take us along the Autostrada del Sole and over the Apennine Mountains past Umbrian hilltop towns to Rome for our two-night stay. This evening, why not dine at a local trattoria? (Buffet Breakfast)Hotel: Mövenpick Central Park (2 nights)
Day 15RomeToday's sightseeing tour with a local guide using our effective audio system starts with one of the World's most important art works Michelangelo's ceiling of the Sistine Chapel situated in the Vatican Museums. Next we visit St. Peter's Basilica before we cross the Tiber to overlook the Forum and see the mighty Colosseum. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore or relax. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 16FlorenceWe drive through the Chianti wine-producing region of Tuscany to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance. Our guided walking tour includes the Cathedral, Signoria Square, the Baptistery and a visit to Santa Croce Basilica. Later, our Tour Director shares a Hidden Treasure with us before time to shop for high quality leather and gold. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Holiday Inn
Day 17NiceWe are off to Pisa with its Leaning Tower. Then on past Carrara and along the Motorway of Flowers via Genoa, Columbus' birthplace. We reach the Principality of Monaco where we visit one of the Casinos in Monte Carlo. After a dinner of typical Provencal cuisine this evening we make our way to Nice. Day 18NiceThis morning we drive to medieval St. Paul de Vence, a wonderful place to shop for hand-made souvenirs and works of art. Then off to the Fragonard Perfumery, home of French perfume before returning to Nice. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 19LyonToday we drive along the Riviera and through Provence to Avignon. From here we soon reach Lyon, the second city of France, where orientation shows us the Place Bellecour and the Fourvière hill, before dinner and our overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Park & Suites Part-Dieu
Day 20ParisThis morning we stop at medieval Beaune. Then we drive past the vineyards of Nuits St. Georges and Gevrey Chambertin as we approach the Forest of Fontainebleau and the glittering city of Paris, with the chance to go the cabaret tonight! Day 21ParisAfter breakfast, our morning sightseeing tour with a local guide begins with a drive from the Place de la Concorde along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe and then to the Eiffel Tower where we ascend to the second level by elevator. Then we enjoy views of Notre Dame Cathedral on the Ile de la Cite and other great monuments. Tonight, we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together with our Tour Director and fellow travellers in a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)
Day 22Return USABid farewell to new-found friends as we transfer you to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for your return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast)
