The adventure begins! | | Day 2 | In Flight | Cross International Dateline; lose a day. You will regain it on the return trip. | | Day 3 | Ho Chi Minh | You will arrive in Ho Chi Minh. We will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. | | Day 4 | Ho Chi Minh | Today we will drive you to the countryside where you can visit the Cu-Chi Tunnels. On the way, you will visit a family making Rice Paper for a living. This family lives next to the rubber plantation, near Cu Chi Tunnel. Then, you will proceed to Cu Chi. Here you will see the historic tunnels, the improvised traps, and many of the tactics that the Vietcong used during the Vietnam War. | | Day 5 | Ho Chi Minh | In the morning you will be given a general city tour of Saigon (HCMC). You will visit the Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral, City Post-Office and Lam Son Square. After lunch the afternoon is free. | | Day 6 | Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta | In the morning you will be taken to the Mekong Delta. You will go down to the Vinh Long area and explore the many sites there. You will visit the paper factory, the puffed rice and candy factories and take various boats and car as you pass through the beautiful scenery of the various canals of the Mekong River. You will spend the night at Can Tho. | | Day 7 | Mekong Delta | You will get up early in the morning to go to the fascinating Floating Market. After this excellent adventure, you will be taken northwest to see floating farmhouses, the Cham villages, the pagodas of the sacred mountains and finally to reach the village of Chau Doc. | | Day 8 | Mekong Delta - Danang - Hoi An | You will get up early in the morning to go to the fascinating Floating Market. Then you will be driven back to Saigon and transferred to the airport and flown to Danang you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An. | | Day 9 | Hoi An | Today you can tour and enjoy the ancient town of Hoi An. This is such a concentrated area that this is primarily a walking tour. You can walk around the old neighborhood and picture what life here must have been like centuries ago - on the old harbor city with houses, bridge temple, pagoda, handicraft workshops and the lantern shops. Dinner with Hoi An special dishes. Overnight in Hoi an | | Day 10 | Hoi An | Free day | | Day 11 | Hoi An | Today you will drive out and visit My Son Holy Land (pronounced 'Mee Sown' which is an incredible World Heritage archeological site). Then we will return you to your hotel in Hoi An.
Evening: Walk around the old-town. | | Day 12 | Hoi An - Danang - Hue | After Breakfast you will be taken to the Cham Sculptures Museum in Danang. Then you will continue through the countryside, the new tunnel to and onto Hue. You will then be taken to your hotel. | | Day 13 | Hue | You will start the day with a tour of the Imperial Citadel - first built by King Gia Long in 1805. Here you will visit Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, the Mieu Temple, and the Nine Dynastic Urns. There is a cultural show here which is itself a World Heritage Cultural experience! After lunch you will visit the Royal Tombs (King Khai Dinh's and King Tu Duc's tombs),then we will visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Trang Tien Bridge and shopping at Dong Ba Market.
Evening Option: You can board a traditional Chinese boat and hear traditional VN music (including musical cups) while cruising along Perfume River. | | Day 14 | Hue | you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home with a lifetime of wonderful memories! |
