Taveuni
Known as the "Garden Isle", this sparsely populated isle is 26 miles long and about 7 miles wide.
The island's natural beauty, both above and under the water, is popular with divers, bushwalkers and nature lovers. The island was created from a gigantic volcanic eruption and has rich soil, home to magnificent rain forest along slopes leading to shoreline coconut plantations and a rich variety of tropical trees, fruits and vegetables.

The island is host to many native birds and the unique Tagimoucia, the national flower of the islands. The plant features clusters of flowers, red with a white center and is the most beautiful of all Fiji wild flowers.

A good road extends the full length of the north-west coast from Vuna in the south to Wainbula in the north, with an airstrip served by Air Fiji and Sunflower Airlines.
